Nick Whitson: Scouting Locations.

Nick Whitson.
This past month I took a friend out with me by the name of Nick Whitson. I needed to find some new locations for shoots so we spent the afternoon/evening searching from the south east to the south west of Atlanta. We found some good spots so I'm hoping to get the ball rolling on these shoots before school starts back up. Check a few others out on Flickr.

Lighting Day: With Lindsay And Denise.

Lighting Day: Lindsay Edwards.
Wednesday Lindsay, Denise, and I went out to do some 'On Location' light testing. We had a blast and now I'm stoked because we will be coming back here with some lovely subjects and ransack this place with the camera to see what will be pulled out of it.

The Fox Theatre of Atlanta.

The Fox Theatre of Atlanta
I just posted my Architecture Final Four on my Flickr. I'm not much of an Architectural Photographer, but I tried and these were the results. I was happy with them to say the least and I couldn't have done it without the help of Lindsey Edwards, Denise Benson, Jessica Elliott, and Evelyn Mendoza. Each helped me out at some point. Check out the GTC Blog to view Janet Kelley's and my work posted on the page.

Mike And Liz Peacock Wedding
I now have a temporary site up for weddings, www.brian-hall.net. It's nothing spectacular, but at least it's something for clients to go take a look at my work that does not have flickr in the name. I will be posting more tomorrow so check out the site, look through the gallery(ies (another one is coming soon)) and yeah, check it if you feel it.

Architecture Final Four.

The Fox Theatre of Atlanta.

This is my Architecture Final Four location, The Fox Theatre of Atlanta. I am so stoked to have this opportunity. It was a hard day of work, 11 sheets of chrome, 4 to 12 minute exposures, etc. etc. This is a digital shot, many wrongs (like blew out the overhead lanterns, not perfectly straight around, color a little off) But I like it none-the-less and hope the chromes come out nice. Thanks to Lindsey and Denise for all the help! 7+ hours of shooting like this is never easy. Also special thanks to Yoonhwa of the Restoration Department for being sooooo kind to escort us around the ENTIRE day. She's such a great person.

Trying It Out.

My Brother Matt.
Today, as I was driving home from the store and the clouds were so sick. I didn't want to miss this opportunity and I just received my Pocket Wizards so... HELLO! Perfect opportunity. So my brother and I went out to a local field to try out the new gear and get those clouds. I am stoked with the results and even more stoked with knowing what is to come with this set up. Check out my Flickr to see more.

In The Studio This Week.

This weekend we shot a couples portraits in the studio. Marc was supposed to have shot their wedding but complications came up which caused the wedding to be done on short notice so they wanted to at least have Marc shoot some portraits of themselves and their family and also a dinner party. Marc killed it and came out with some great images. The night was a very interesting but fun night. Oh, the life of a photographer.

Denise And Lindsey Day!

Denise and Lindsey: Classmates

I spent the Wednesday with two of my classmates/friends, Denise and Lindsey. I have never gotten to spend much time with them outside of school and I am really happy to have gotten to hang with them all day because they are some of the coolest gals I've ever met. It was a great day full of wanting to avoid Architecture and goof off, but we still killed it.

Goodbye Wolf Camera.

This past Saturday was my final day at Wolf Camera and our stores final day after being open for the past 20 years (that's as long as I have been alive). I have spent the last two years working there as a salesman/lab tech. There were days when I liked the job and days where I really did not, but over all it was a good experience. It really confirmed the fact that I could never be a salesman for the rest of my life, I don't enjoy it. I did however love helping customers who really wanted to learn photography. I was lucky to have caring co-workers who were pretty laid back. This was good, but now it's time for something new and right now that means really focusing on all the photo work I need to get done. So time to book it up!
