The Time Between.

Backing up my hard drive is going to take longer than I thought. A 500GB Transfer is an all day event yet I have started tonight. Of course I have not just highlighted everything and drug it over, no, I'm doing the smart thing and transferring little by little (little meaning a lot butt load of files but not in huge increments to cut down on the event of error or interruption). I aim to have all files backed up by Sunday night, it's a very likely happening, so no worries.

I am bummed I was not able to shoot for my own pleasure at all over "break" if you could consider this a break. I worked almost every day and the two days I had off no one was available for a shoot, subjects that is. Apathy about got the best of me, but it is ok, I will make time and continue to plug away during the next quarter. Once I get the Marc Climie's calendar, shoots will start filling in my free time.

Speaking of Marc, I am interning with Marc Climie this quarter. I'm beyond stoked and start Sunday! Marc already seems like a great guy, everyone talks so highly about him, so I cannot wait to see what is store and what all I will learn. 7th Quarter, Here I come.

Picking Up Essentials.

I just purchased the Western Digital 1TB Hard Drive. I have been meaning to buy one for some time now and it has been stupid of me to wait so long, but I just recently have been able to start purchasing the things I need to have before my Photography Program ends. For those of you needing to do as I need to do and back up your photos, files, etc. etc. go to B&H to get this bad boy for only $149.95 with NO TAX AND FREE SHIPPING. I compared it with many different places and this is the best deal I found.

Hello 50D.

I was able to purchase my Second and now Main Camera this week, the Canon 50D. Can anyone say HECK YES!? I would love a full frame, but as of right now, it is not practical for me to have due to lack of lenses and being in need of a second camera with more weddings coming up. I am completely satisfied with my decision and sooo stoked to get it dirty.  This camera's clarity and image detail is phenomenal. The only thing now, is to get more 4GB cards because the 2GB's cards aren't gonna cut it for this one.

USA Network's Character Project.

USA sent out 11 acclaimed photographers in the summer of 2008. From my understanding it's to celebrate the characters that make up America and is apart of the whole "Character's Welcome" theme that USA has going on. I thought I heard something about there being a presentation on TV, but I'm not sure about that. I just thought my fellow photographers would be interested in this. Maybe we will see some classmates apart of something like this one day.

Section D for Portfolio.

This is my Section D. I have a few more shots of it where you can tell it's a wine glass, but I liked this one a tad bit more. I'm not sure if she's going to like it, but hey I tried. This was a quick edit, but hopefully it's good enough so when I go in to print, there will just be minor adjustments.

First 4x5 Portrait.

This is my brother Matt once again. This was my first attempt at a 4x5 Portrait. I love shallow depth on portraits so I shot pretty open. I was happy to see it came out sharp, I'm stoked to start trying chrome portraits!

Snow Day!

I didn't believe anyone who said it was going to snow today..... yeeeeaah, I was wrong. It is so insane outside. This is my brother Matt, we went out to shoot. I hope school is cancelled for two reasons: 1. To shoot my location with snow! 2. So I have extra days to study for my math test. I doubt it will be so I'm either going to get a lab suspension or turn in the Camulet before I get a chance to snap the shots. We'll see. Anyways, I'll have more up on my flickr later today.

So I just changed the Gwinnett Tech Photography Blog. Everyone needs to go check it out, add it, link it, give more ideas for it, etc. etc. It was just a simple change to make it a little more interesting and welcoming. I think I just dislike blog quality, because the banner is not at all a good quality, but the file itself is... trust me, I had to spend a lot of time just trying to get the parameters right. "750x250 exact banner" my butt! it's definitely 750x241 pixels. Anyways, I also found that I can't customize anything unless we buy the "Custom Upgrade Package blah blah blah" Which is entirely stupid, but I will do what I can with what we have until the teachers look at and agree to upgrade that. I don't think we should have to pay for it, but if we do, it could be a little fun. Ok, so go check it out and all that jazz.
