REAL HOPE FEST 2008!

REAL HOPE FEST has made it's way back around again in it's 4th Annual Music Festival. Real Hope Records has put on RHF for a few reasons. First, to support the Local and National Music scene. Second, to give local Atlantan's and Georgian's a fulfilling alternative to the main stream party lifestyle. Third and Final, to promote exactly what the name is, to give Real Hope to the youth of today and even the generations before and after. This music festival is more than just about music, it's about showing love to our fellow man and giving hope to all those who seek it out. My good friend, BJ Dills, who heads up Real Hope Records has asked me to return again this year to shoot the entire show. To view the shots I took from last year just head to their myspace page. Come out if you can. I promise, you won't be disappointed.  There is also a Food Drive going on during to help the hungry. There is more information about it on their Myspace. I'll have some of the shots from the show up on my Flickr soon.

Project Video And Flickr News.

Over my Summer Quarter, in my Multimedia 1 Class, I had to put together a video telling a story. I used mostly photos, so it's more of a Montage, but it does have video clips here and there to emphasize points. The basis mainly about young girls struggles in a world that keeps telling them they have to be perfect, especially on the outside, if they will be worth anything. It fits in everyone, how all in this world struggle with never being good enough, but in reality, being us is more than enough. The first song is Have Heart's "No Roses, No Skies" and to understand all that he is saying you can find the lyrics Here. The second song is O'brother's "The Look Down!". Tell me what you think if you would like.

In other news, I am frequently updating my Flickr page with a lot of work that I have been doing this past year that I have not posted on my site or anywhere else. So check it out, I should have a new set coming up today before I head off to work.

MAC On Campus PART 2.

Here's the video that Jessica took while MAC was here.

MAC On Campus.

About two times a year, MAC On Campus (The Mamiya Company) comes to our school and shows us all the latest and greatest things they have going on equipment wise. Of course it is just a drool fest for all of us photographers. They have some awesome deals going on right now, like the Mamiya 645ZD w/the 28 Megapixel Touch Screen Back for a little over $13,000! Sounds expensive (because it is) but it is truly a good deal. Also the Sekonic Light Meters have dropped in price!
We then moved on to going over the Profoto Lights... sick, literally makes me sick because they're so rad. We got to have some fun with the 645ZD and a few of the lenses. My friend Jessica has a video of me from this, so I will be posting that once she gets it up.

Flickr Finally Running.

I've actually had my Flickr Account for some time now. I was waiting till I got my website up to start using it so I could update each according to what I am working on. Well now, I have to have it running so now, that means, YES! I will have my website up shortly. I guess that's the awesome thing about being pushed to get stuff done. So check the Flickr and keep checking back for the website (www.brianhallphotography.net).

Zombie Walk Atlanta 2008! PART 2.

Here's a video from the Zombie Walk that my friend Jessica took right before we took off to terrorize the city and during the walk itself. Look closely at a familiar Zombie!

Zombie Walk Atlanta 2008!

I spent my Sunday afternoon and night surrounded by the Undead of Atlanta. The Zombie Walk is held every year to celebrate the Atlanta Horror Film Festival. It was one of the sickest (meaning both cool and "vile") events I have been apart of in our good ole' city. Needless to say, it was flippin' sweet. More and more and more photos to come of the atrocities that took place on this most unpleasant day.

Oh, and of course I had to take part. My friend Maggie, Classmate Jessica (not pictured here), and I got all nice and done up for this joyous occasion. "It's tricky to rock a rhyme, it's tricky!"

Wreck-Age.

This is what goes on outside of my work weekly.

I am not kidding you. Every week there is something picture worthy happening outside my store, yes, in the small small town of Covington, GA. Who would have thought? This week, another wreck. Last week, a stolen car pulled over, with a load of marijuana and two AK47's. I could go on but I do not have photos of all the incidents so there is no real point. It is a good thing I work at a Camera Shop so if there is ever anything worthy of a picture, I do not have an excuse to not take some.

Vision City: Love For Atlanta

I am in the middle a promotional shoot right now with the band Vision City. My friend Thomas, who heads up most of the band, came to me and asked me if I would shoot some promos that did not feature the band and something that conveyed the message of what the band is all about. These are some of the first shots that we got and are now planning out the next shoot. Thomas is asking me to travel with the band and document our trips as a band and a ministry, an outreach that huge on our hearts. So, soon enough I'll have images from the road and hopefully finding new ways to convey love for our home city of Atlanta, but also the cities we pass through along the way.

Holiday Portrait Poster.

So I was able to come in today and finish the poster for our Holiday Portraits. I was glad to get it done. My teachers and others had nice things to say about it so I am satisfied. I mean, honestly, I want to do more to it, but being pushed with time, I am making myself be all good with the outcome.
I think I came up with an idea for my High Key portrait. Since I didn't make it in for the assignment I have had some extra time to plan for it. We'll see how it comes out.

Augusta In Georgia.

Recently, I was able to hang out with my friend Augusta for her Birthday. I was just planning on taking her out for dinner and all the good stuff. But, because she loves all forms of art and is a great gal to have a conversation with, we(I) started talking photography and playing around with the camera. Well, in the midst of teaching Miss 'Gusta a few things about the ole' camera I started getting some beautiful shots. So, I started asking her to stand here and there and low and behold I was loving them! She's so beautiful obviously, but the sun setting made the lighting and scene that much better. I have a ton of shots from her Birthday and a few days after from Cleveland, GA when I went to see her. I am stoked to post some more.

Kid Portrait.

I was able to use my friend Steve's little boy, Steve Jr., for my child portrait assignment last Tuesday. Steve Jr., or Lil' Steve, was a awesome kid. He was pretty corporative and made it very easy to snap shots because once he had his toys, he went to town. I had a few different shots that I liked, but I thought this look showed his personality after meeting him. Now I just need to find out what I am going to do for my High Key/Low Key Portrait.

Advanced Portraiture Project One Done.

I finished my Animal Assignment in AP last night. The print came out fairly nice and I'm pretty happy with it. I have a few more that I liked a lot as well that I will end up posting later this week.

First Blog For Multimedia 2 Class.

So this blog is off to a start. I posted this video from this morning's class assignment, "Child Portraits" just to give a visual representation that we do work in the class. It's pretty unentertaining I know, but it's a tiny taste. I'll be posting up photos to show the recent work that has taken up a good bit of my time soon.
